Rudra means destroyer(shiva) we pray to lord shiva to destroy the evil and protect the good...the verses describe rudra as the one who present in all beings and everywhere...in all animals,man,plants,earth,sky..­..rudra is everywhere...

the chanting of this will prevent all ashubham( inauspicious) and grant success
